STAR: Strike It Rich Chapter 49 review
Finally, can do a review about STAR: Strike It Rich again.
Information about Hina's family is expanding, we know that Hina is the 4th STAR and in the previous chapter (48) we saw a conflict between the 5th STAR and 2nd STAR.
In THIS chapter we are not seeing the conclusion of the 5th STAR vs 2nd STAR conflict.
Instead we are greeted with a view of a top secret woman prison, inside the prison the 8th STAR is revealed, and also a vague glimps of the 1st STAR is shown.
The 8th STAR is a prisoner, she is accompanied by a prison director, named Hirukawa Kozue.
But we quickly learn that the prison system is corrupt, as the director fears and serves the 8th STAR. Kind of funny but sad, as this prison was designed to control the most uncontrollable dangerous humans.
I personally like the prison idea, it also shows that Kengan universe has plenty powerful and dangerous fighters to reveal. Not just from on tournaments or martial arts schools, but also from prisons.
The 8th STAR and prison director are discussing about the other STAR members and their status. We don't learn a lot news from their talks, other than revealing a vague shadow of the 1st STAR with her name, Amou Shina.
The biggest reveal in the conversation is the big fight that the 8th STAR wants to prepare for the Valkirya.
Apparently, there will be a soon fight between dangerous female prisoners "who can fight" and the Valkirya.
Meanwhile Valkirya has another(?) problem coming to their way, the Boyu group (one of Japan's largest criminal organization) has a female fighting organization called "LPG" (Love Psycho Girls).
The plan is to take down Valkirya with the LPG, the LPG has financial support from the Boyu group and thus they have the money to hire toughest women with fat paycheck and contracts.
We don't know if the LPG is connected with 8th STAR and the prison.
Eitherway, there is certainly some sort of a tournament coming, whether from 8th STAR or from Boyu group, eitherway it will be fantastic.
Who are gonna participate? Sadly this is not known yet, this chapters states that the Sena Sisters are brawling the lower rank (fodders) of the Boyu group, and we will see Hina, Sara and Yozuha Lee do some "spy" work.
Many things are happening, so it is hard to predict what exactly will happen in next chapter. Current chapter lacks typical action we want to see, if you hoped to see the continuation of the fight between 5th and 2nd STAR.. then you will be disappointed. It is still an interesting chapter that set up the groundwork for the next big tournament(s). (Possibly 2 fightt tournaments are incoming).
