Tenkaichi is a brutal tournament focused martial arts manga, written by Yōsuke Nakamaru and illustrated by Kyōtarō Azuma.
The story focused on the legendary fighters across Japan coming together to win the tournament, each for their own reason.
By brutal, I mean it really is brutal... this is a martial arts tournament where the loser lose their life. According to the author, there are no main characters in this show. Anyone can die.
Bringing this manga to the anime mainstream would be great. It truly is an unique pearl.
Sadly we don't know when the anime is going to be released, nor which company/organization is going to handle the animation. We don't even know the animation style. Could it be done in 3D? Who knows.
What we do know is that the manga is known for peak art quality and intense fighting scenes, they take their time with each chapter. If they apply the same quality over the anime, it will turn into a very exciting piece of work.
Hopefully they won't cut scenes from the manga...
